Coach Joey Ruggiero from Team Third Law BJJ & MMA won silver in his division at blue middle and silver in the absolute.
Once a year the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation brings a tournament to Florida, and Team Third Law always sends a bunch of competitors to represent Team Lloyd Irvin for the event. This year was no different.
The Miami International Open was a big hit for the people who participated from Team Third Law, and they were joined by teammates from fellow Team Lloyd Irvin affiliate Crazy 88 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well.
Coach Joseph Ruggiero had a good day of competition, winning silver in both blue middleweight and the blue absolute, defeating difficult opponents along the way.
In his division he won his first two matches by submission with chokes.
Blue belt Katy Torralbas also took home silver in her division, blue pena.
Meanwhile, white belt Crystal Bradley submitted her three opponents by armbar, winning gold at her first international tournament at white pluma.
It was a great opportunity for Third Law competitors to compete at an International tournament close to home. Congrats to everyone who competed, and thanks to those who came out to support the team!
