Our programs are physical, close-contact sports that challenge mind and body, and provide personal growth. This is super HEALTHY, but also means that we have to be cautious about germs and bacteria that grow in shared spaces and spread from close contact.
Hygiene Best Practices for Our Students
- Strict Shoe Policy!!! Students seen violating our shoe policy will be given disinfectant wipes and asked to clean their feet before class.
- SHOES OFF on mats
- SHOES ON outside, in lobby & hallways
- SHOES ON in the bathroom
- Bathe daily: Be clean for class, bathe immediately after
- Make sure to have fresh breath
- Clean and trim fingernails
- Wash hands before and after class for at least 20 seconds
- Wash all clothing daily (this prevents ringworm)
- Wash martial arts uniform after each use — gi, belt,undergarments… EVERYTHING! (this prevents ringworm)
- If you are sick please stay home
- Cover open wounds with Band-aids and/or Athletic tape
- Keep an eye on any open cuts (scratching and/or touching can lead to “impetigo” and other contagious skin infections)
What We Do To Keep Our School Clean
- Mats sprayed with hospital grade disinfectant & wiped daily with monster mop
- High-touch surfaces disinfected (door knobs, faucets water fountains, keyboards)
- Floors and public areas cleaned and disinfected regularly
- Hand-sanitizer provided in all classrooms
- Hand washing reminder for kids after each bathroom use
- Inspect kids fingernails and skin during classes, summer camps and after school program
- Band-aids on any open cuts during kids programs
- Polite Student Hygiene Best Practices Reminders when necessary
